The Christmas Countdown

Well here we are, the day before the birthday of Jesus. I say it every month, but it truly feels as if life is just whirling past. With the excitement of tomorrow before us and some special guests later next week, I thought I'd do an update with some photos of the last few weeks.

As I mentioned in November, Sally was part of an Advent Expression Dance Team at our church. They danced to the song Gloria by Michael W. Smith. There were about 15 children participating, with Sally as the youngest. The three littlest kids were dressed as Angels and it was adorable! What a joyful way to express the love of Christ through dance.

Betsy turned nine months old the beginning of December. We have marked 3, 6 and 9 months with the help of a wonderful local photographer, Sarah Sweetman. She snapped some photos of the whole family which was really special. We'll see her again next week for an extended family photo shoot.

Miss Sally also participates in a regular dancing class and they had their holiday "party" this past week. Grandpa Karl and Nonnie came over and we had a birthday lunch for Grandpa Karl and then went to the party that included a dance by Sally's creative movement class to the song Frosty the Snowman. Precious. This is her in her Santa Hat with Betsy before the dance.

As you can see from the photo of Sally and Betsy together, Betsy's eye became infected and required some antibiotic treatment. Unfortunately, she had a reaction to the antibiotic and that had to be discontinued, however I think we were on the medication long enough to give the infection a little kick. That in conjunction with some medicated drops seems to have helped. The eye infection, on top of THREE top teeth breaking through the gums have made for some rough nights of sleeping. Hopefully next month will find Betsy feeling a lot better.

School is out and John participated in a Lego TEK Engineering camp. He LOVED it and made motorized cars, catapults and other fun things.

We will prepare for Christmas Eve candle light service this evening, then our annual watching of the movie Tootsie (kids 10 and over only)- I'm not sure why it is a family tradition, but it is.... it is a very funny and sweet movie though.
