An Auntie Katy Visit

This evening we had a wonderful visit with a very dear family friend, "Auntie" Katy.

I met Katy in my pre-married life when I worked for Virginia Mason Medical Center. We both started there in the Education Department during the fall of 1994.   Over the last (nearly) 17 years we've shared many very special moments:  from the arrival of John on Katy's birthday (they are super birthday buddies), to the long, worrisome hours waiting by Katy's hospital bedside after she came out of surgery and then celebrating the healing process that came in the months to follow as she beat cancer!  

This past summer,  Katy made the decision to relocate to Iowa to be closer to her Mom and Sister.  We were sad to see her leave but certainly understand the joy of living close to family.

She has been out in our neck of the woods this past week.  She must have brought the sun as it was the longest string of sunny days we've had in many months!  But you know, Katy has a pretty sunny personality and many would say she "lights up the room" so it would be expected that her presence nearby makes the sun shine!

I believe this may be a fashion pair made in heaven.
They may not be Birthday Buddies, 
but they will certainly be Nordstrom Shopping Buddies!

I've got my eye on you....
