Five Times the Fun

I am exhausted after an incredibly fun day celebrating Little Miss Sally's 5th Birthday.

Being the "Girly Girl" that she is, only a "fancy" 5th birthday party would do.  We started off the day at "Miss" Jeannie's Salon for fancy hair.  Jeannie is the wife of one of Erik's best friends from college (they even have worked together for the last 12+ years).  Jeannie made beautiful ringlet curls and a soft-braided "up-do".  We sure hope she is still doing hair 10 years from now- she will be our go to for fancy prom hair.

Once Sally's hair was done, she was ready for her party.  Wearing a flower girl dress (found at our favorite consignment shop) and our new sparkly shoes that light up when we stomp our feet (thanks Great Grandma Stella and Great Granny Clara) we were ready to let the party begin.


We met four of our favorite friends at Amai Day Spa for manicures.  The girls were wide-eyed and so quiet as they walked from the waiting area back to the manicure room.  The Spa was so nice and arranged to have five people in to give manicures at the same time so no little fingers had to wait.  Miss F and Miss C chose forest green sparkle nail polish, Miss L chose royal blue, with sparkles of course.  Sally chose a Rosy red, and Miss A chose a poppy red/orange color- we thought the name of that polish was fun:  "Sneaky".

The hardest part was waiting for the nail polish to dry.... ah, but so fun to have the finished product.

Once the girls hands were perfectly fancy, we headed off to tea at Elizabeth & Alexander's.  When we walked in we saw a very special friend, Pam, a wonderful woman that provided child care for Sally from age 2 to 4 two days/week.  We miss Bothell Bears, so it was fun to see her having tea!

 After our fancy lunch, the celebration continued at home with an afternoon visit from the Grandparents- Grammy and Grampa Erchie and Nonnie and Grampa Karl.



We went out for a birthday dinner



Dinner at Blue C Sushi (I'm pretty sure that the conveyor belts are the big draw)
and dessert at Cold Stone.

Turning 5 is pretty fabulous!
