While we had some remodeling done in our home, we took a trip to both sides of the state. First we visited the Tri-Cities and soaked in some sun.

We stopped in Yakima at the fruit stand on our way back across the state. So many yummy things to choose from.

We made it to Port Townsend in time for dinner, and the famous Grandpa Karl's Strawberries and Ice Cream.

We kept busy with jam making (8 pints apricot, 12 pints cherry, 8 pints blueberry and 10 pints raspberries) plus dried apricots. We also played at the beach and got John a new bike for his birthday from the ReCyclery. Had a fun day in Sequim with Erik's parents too!

We got home excited to see the new parts of our home remodel project coming together. The big one was the new tile in our entry way. Will be so nice when wet feet step inside, the wood that had been there didn't hold up well through soggy NW winters. This is the same tile that we put in our mudroom remodel.

Back home after our week away we enjoyed some of the sunny Summer days we are finally getting. The kids had a great day at Picnic Point. We didn't spend as long as they would have liked, because I picked up Betsy's cold and was feeling only slightly better than Betsy looks in the photo at the dinner table shown a few photos above.
