June 24th "Pioneer Life"

What a very fun day in Salt Lake City!

After a quick dip in the pool (since we arrived too late last night for the kids to swim) we were off to downtown Salt Lake City. What a pretty city, and hardly any traffic. We drove to Heritage Park. It was a lot of fun to explore this "old fashioned" town. We ate lunch and had old time photos taken. The kids were able to each make a stamped leather item (We wondered how many times the man holding the leather stamping tool has had his hand hit by a child with a mallet). Aside from the fact it was 90+ degrees outside and hard to stay cool we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

We left Salt Lake City and headed out towards Wyoming. Just far enough away from Salt Lake to not make it worth turning around I realized my breast pump wasn't functioning properly. Bummer. Thankfully my phone has Internet access and I was able to look to find the nearest place to buy supplies. The "Lemons" of the situation was that Wyoming doesn't have a good support for women using breast pumps as there are no suppliers within the state. The "Lemonade" part of the story is that the closest supplier is Fort Collins, CO. This happens to be where my brother and his family live. Although we hadn't intended a stop there on our trip (as we will be enjoying a visit with Aunt Fifi and Uncle Monkey- as Sally calls them- in mid-July at our home) we now get to look forward to lunch and a little playdate with them tomorrow on our way!

Off to bed here in Rock Springs, WY. Off to Colorado tomorrow!
