June 27th: "Idol"

Another fun day on vacation. We drove the road of fame today from Oklahoma to Arkansas. We passed the hometown of Garth Brooks, Troy Aikman, and then stopped in the hometown of American Idol winner Carrie Underwood. As we passed each town there was a sign on the interstate announcing the town's beloved star as living there.

In Carrie Underwood's hometown we stopped for gas and a two for one milkshake at Sonic. We found in town this funny red barn convenience store that was a drive through. My picture doesn't do it justice, but as you drove through the barn there were glass doored shelves, the kind you find soda in at the back of a gas convenience store. It was really funny to see.

We made it as far as Conway, Arkansas this evening. It is hot and humid and the cicada are out singing. Will decide how to spend tomorrow, but considering a visit into downtown Little Rock to see the petite roche.
