Day 15: Road Trip Report from John

Today we left Los Angles and we stopped at rest stops and someone was selling necklaces.  They were made by Navajo. 
 

And then we got to Las Vegas.  And we looked around for a hotel and then we found a Circus hotel called Circus Circus.    The room was only 31 dollars so we decided to stay there.

The hotel looks like  a circus tent.  In both ways, like it is a real circus, and it looks like a circus.  It is really really big.  We ate dinner at the Garden something restaurant.  I had a sourdough bacon burger without the onion and blue cheese.  It was great.  They had rides inside the Adventure Dome.  We don't want to go on them because they look like you would puke on them.  There was the "Inverter" and it spun you up and down and once it held you upside down for like at least a minute.  There was another one called the "Sling Shot" and it shot you straight up into the air and then dropped you straight down and then up and down at least three more times.

After dinner we walked down to look at all the hotels.  My favorite was Caesar's Palace.  I liked it because it was really really big and it had like Roman stuff.  I saw a Volcano show at the Mirage.  First there was steam, and then water got all red and shot up in the air, and it was really hot because we were standing near the front of the crowd by the volcano.  The reason why it was warm(er) was because there was fire coming out of it.  Betsy was really scared and she didn't like it because it was noisy.

After that, we went to get some ice cream.  I was going to have an ice cream cone, but we were the last people in line and we had to fend everyone off from the end of the line because they were closing the store.  So they gave us a sign (more like a paddle) that said "the early bird may get the worm- but the last in line gets the frrrrozen hot chocolate".  We got a frozen hot chocolate, it normally costs $10!!  but we got it for free.

Then we walked back to our hotel.  It was a long hike.  We saw a man dressed up like Elvis.  Mom says he was a famous singer but he is dead now.  And we saw a bride and groom.  Sally told the Bride she looked pretty.

And then we went to bed, it was 12:30 in the morning.  I've never stayed up that late before.  I'll always remember my fun night in Vegas!
